Bager is a Houston residential design-and-build studio. Since 2021, we’ve drawn, priced and built timeless remodels across Greater Houston’s established neighborhoods — under one roof, with one team responsible from the first conversation to the final walkthrough. We don’t hand your project between a designer, a contractor and a crew who’ve never met. That single line of accountability is the whole point.

Norman Alcantara

Founder · Principal

I build homes the way I'd want someone to build mine. I came to Houston from Venezuela with the values my parents gave me — respect, humility, and a real love for the craft — and I treat every home as if it were my own. You won't have to supervise us or chase us; your life goes on while we transform the space around you. Bager is a family firm — my wife leads administration, my brother Ruben directs operations — and we answer for our word. Because there is something more sacred than money: keep what you promise, and the world opens at your feet.

Maria Boscan

Co-Founder · Administration

I'm Maria — a mother, a wife, and my family's partner in everything, good times and hard ones. I keep Bager running: the order, the clarity, and the care behind every project. My husband Norman and I built this studio together, both of us from Venezuela, and we pour the same love we give our children and my mother-in-law, Josefina, into every home we touch. We work each project as if it were our own home — with order, respect, seriousness and responsibility — so that, through our example, our children learn to value life and to honor their word. To us, a promise is far more than a contract.

Ruben

Director of Operations & Development

I'm Ruben, Norman's brother — I've worked beside him since the very beginning of Bager. Born in Venezuela and a father of three, I lead operations and development for the studio: project management, crews on site, materials and trade sourcing, and city and HOA permits. My job is to make sure the promise made in the design meeting becomes the reality on the ground — cleanly, on schedule, and to standard. The values our father taught us as boys are the same ones I bring to every jobsite: order, respect, and responsibility, every single day.

Why we exist

Most remodels go wrong in the gaps — between the drawing and the build, the promise and the invoice, the person you met and the person who shows up. We built Bager to remove the gaps. Design and construction, resolved together, on a fixed investment, by people who answer for the result.

What we believe

Timeless over trendy

We design for how a home will feel in fifteen years, not fifteen months. Natural materials, considered proportions, and finishes that age with grace rather than date the house.

Decisions before demolition

Plans, selections and the number are resolved on paper first. When the build begins, it's execution — not a series of surprises discovered behind the walls.

One accountable lead

A single project lead runs your job and reports on a set cadence. You always know where the work stands, and you never chase an answer across three companies.

The number you sign is the number

Your investment is fixed before we break ground. Changes happen only through a written change order you approve in advance — never a mid-project surprise.
